Job Description

Reporting to the Manager of the Medical/Surgical and Emergency Department, the incumbent is responsible for providing quality-nursing care to patients and their families in the Outpatient Emergency Department.


  • Minimum of two years acute care experience in an active treatment setting.
  • Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario (proof required).
  • Current B.C.L.S. Certificate (proof required).
  • A.C.L.S. Certificates or willingness to attain at own expense (proof required).
  • Emergency course or ENC (proof required).
  • Triage training or willingness to obtain (proof required).
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Nursing Process and the Standards of Nursing Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently at times without supervision.
  • Demonstrates good assessment, judgment, decision-making and documentation skills.

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an Emergency Department.
  • Coronary Care certificate.
