NOTICE OF VACANCY
POSITION: HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT
Temporary Full-Time (Approximately 12 months)
POSITION SUMMARY: As part of the Human Resources Team, the HR Assistant will provide effective and efficient Administrative and Receptionist support to the Human Resources Department. In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for the day to day activities, assisting new employees through the hiring and onboarding process, ensuring all necessary documents are completed, and that relevant information is received, processing correspondence, data entry, , file maintenance, reception duties and special projects within the Human Resources Department.
REPORTS TO: Director, Human Resources
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Undergraduate degree from an accredited University, preferably in Labour Relations, or Business preferred
- Community College diploma from an Administrative Assistant or Human Resources program and/or equivalent experience required
- CHRP designation or willingness to acquire preferred
Experience:
- HR experience or a combination of education and relevant experience required
- Two years senior level Administrative Assistant experience required
Abilities:
- Highly developed level of maturity as demonstrated by sound decision-making skills, excellent judgement and assessment skills
- Strong command of the English language – both written and verbal
- Excellent keyboarding and computer skills: proficient in Word-processing, Spreadsheet and Graphics software packages
- Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems is preferred
- Highly developed ability to organize and prioritize within a fast paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to commit to a highly confidential environment.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License with access to own vehicle. Travel is required throughout Huron-Perth region with occasional travel to major centres
