POSITION: MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST
Senior Technologist – Alliance Wide
Full-Time Position
POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist, General Laboratory, will assume supervision responsibilities for the General Laboratory. The Senior Technologist is responsible to the Laboratory Manager, the IHLP Laboratory Director, and the IHLP Regional Coordinator for the efficient functioning of the day-to-day operations of this Laboratory. The Senior Technologist ensures the reliability of all test results.
REPORTS TO: Manager, HPHA Laboratories
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
SALARY: $37.18 to $46.08 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program
- Current Registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) in all lab areas
- BSc. and/or ART, relevant to a Core Lab discipline preferred
- Completion of a Clinical Laboratory Management program, preferred
Experience
- At least 2-3 years of current technical experience in General/Core laboratory
- Experience in a supervisory capacity preferred
- Membership in applicable professional organizations
Abilities
- Ability to conduct meetings
- Ability to solve problems of an analytical or technical nature
- Ability to prepare correspondence, reports and procedure manuals
- Ability to supervise the technical and non-technical staff
- Ability to analyze and interpret laboratory test results
- Ability t deliver presentations to various audiences
- Ability to interact effectively with information systems
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite
